I started using Henna on January 14, 2011. My hair loves it and I will continue to do a treatment once a week, at least until March 15th, then I might do it every other week. I am finding that the key to hair growth is to have a regimen geared toward what your hair likes (for me it is mostly natural products), moisturizing (especially water and sealing those ends with oil daily), and retaining length through protective styling. However, I am finding out that as long as you moisturize and take care of your ends, you do not have to do protective styling. Also, because I do not always eat right, vitamins are essential. I take a prenatal multivitamin/multimineral, Vitamin E (400 IU), Biotin (1000 mcg), B50 – (B-complex), Hemp Oil (one tablespoon) or Fish, Flaxseed, Borage Oil (Omega 3, 6, 9 – I am just finishing up these), and MSM Capsule (1000 mg) and do my best to drink 10 glasses of water a day. Skin care is important also, so I am going all natural (for the whole family). My skin is clearer and I am feeling better physically, mentally and spiritually (not necessarily in that order). Looking forward to great progress in the next six months to one year.
